The client
FlexiForce Canada is a manufacturing company in British Columbia, Canada which serves customers throughout the Americas.
The need
The client did a lot of international business and wanted to ensure that their shipments would continue to flow smoothly across the border to their customers in the United States.
The solution
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provided us with a lot of great reference material. We conducted a self-assessment and determined what improvements would need to be made in order to be accepted into the Partners in Protection program.
Visitor logging was implemented at all entrances to the facility. Signage was added to inform drivers of proper traffic pattern and need to sign-in at the office. Routine perimeter inspections of the existing fence were established.
A 7-point inspection process was implemented for intermodal containers, and a 10-point inspection process for trailers. Inspection mirrors were purchased to aid in these processes. Procedures were created for affixing and removing of security seals, and a security seal log was established.
Identification badges for visitors and contractors were designed, printed, and issued as necessary. Employee photo ID badges were also designed.
CBSA approved the client’s entry into the Partners in Protection program.
