The client
Pathway Christian Church is a Protestant church in British Columbia, Canada which belongs to the Canadian and American Reformed Churches.
The need
The client was moving into a school gymnasium and needed an audio/video system that was easy to set up and operate.
The solution
The client had already sourced and purchased all the equipment they thought they would need, on recommendation from the supplier. Most audio equipment was rack-mounted into a wheeled cart at the front of the room. Video equipment and audio DI boxes were located on a movable table at the back of the room. A pipe was installed along the ceiling, with four XLR cables running the width of the room as a snake, terminating in lock boxes at each end of the pipe.
I added hooks to the audio equipment cart to hold all audio cables while the system was in storage. I labelled all cables at both ends, but we left them attached at the mixer end. Velcro loops were used to keep the cables from turning into spaghetti. Additional cables were added over time as more instruments were introduced.
