WPS.IntraNet and WPS.ClientNet

The client

WPS Disaster Management Solutions is an emergency planning consulting company in British Columbia, Canada which serves customers throughout North America.

The need

The client was looking to replace their paper-based workflows with digital workflows that would enable seamless information-sharing between departments and between the company and its customers.

The solution

Since the client firmly believed that off-the-shelf software was not up to the task, I created a custom, web-based project management and customer relationship management solution. The system handled everything except the financial side of the business: tracking prospects, requesting quotations, creating work orders, conducting site visits, generating deliverables, shipping deliverables to the customer, scheduling in-person training classes, collecting student feedback, providing online training content, and processing customer change requests.

WPS.IntraNet was the internal employee site, and WPS.ClientNet was the external customer site. In addition to the ability to submit change requests, ClientNet also provided access to digital copies of the deliverables and self-service tools for tracking fire drills, document reviews, and personnel management.
